2024 National Vocation Awareness Week

November 3, 2024 - November 9, 2024

National Vocation Awareness Week will be celebrated from November 3 to 9, 2024. This annual weeklong celebration of the Catholic Church in the United States is dedicated to promoting vocations to the priesthood, diaconate, and consecrated life through prayer and education, and to renewing our prayers and support for those considering one of these vocations.

Sample bulletin announcement
“National Vocation Awareness Week will be celebrated in our country from November 3 to 9, 2024. Please ask Our Lord for more dedicated, holy priests, deacons, and consecrated men and women. May they be inspired by Jesus Christ, supported by our faith community, and respond generously to God’s gift of vocations. Find out about upcoming vocations events, ways to discover God’s will, and more at www.dcpriest.org.”

Prayer for Vocations to the Priesthood and Consecrated Life

Almighty and merciful Father,

You insprire and bring to fulfillment every good intention.

Guide Your people in the way of salvation

and watch over those who shepherd Your flock

and those who have left all things to follow You.

Rise up worthy ministers for Your altars, ardent but gentle servants of the Gospel,

and generous souls who renounce worldly power and profit

to serve You and their brothers and sisters faithfully

in the spirit of poverty and humility.

Inspire our young men and women to respond to Your call

so that Your Church might always rejoice

in plentiful servants for Your harvest.

We ask this through Jesus Christ, Your Son, Our Lord,

who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit,

one God, for ever and ever.

Amen
