My life before the seminary:
I grew up in the great city of St. Louis, Missouri with a twin sister and a golden retriever named Chase. After graduating from high school, I moved to DC to attend George Washington University. I played club Frisbee and was pre-med for three years before my interests shifted to health policy. I interned in the Senate during the fall of my senior year and worked for a health law/policy consulting firm during the spring before graduating in May 2018.
What convinced me to enter the seminary:
During college, I realized that if I wanted to be generous with my life, I would consider the priesthood at some point. After discovering a love for my faith and for prayer, I developed good relationships with priests and then noticed, to my surprise, how full their lives were. The adventure of the priesthood began to stick out to me in a way I couldn’t ignore, but I wanted to. Eventually, I was so moved by a priest’s example of faithfulness that I knew I owed it to myself to consider the priesthood. A few months later, I understood that seminary was my next step.
