My life before the seminary:
I grew up as the oldest child of three in southern Maryland. After graduating from Leonardtown High School, I went to The University of Maryland for my undergraduate degree, studying mathematics and physics. It was at UMD that I started to get more deeply involved with my faith through the Catholic Student Center there. Upon graduating, I entered the seminary.
What convinced me to enter the seminary:
During the winter break of my senior year at The University of Maryland, I received a very strong and transformative grace of consolation. This grace helped me to come back the following spring semester renewed with a deeper love for and relationship with Jesus Christ. From there I went on a discernment retreat with the Archdiocese, not thinking much of it initially, but came out surprised! After that retreat and talking with the vocations director, I knew that seminary was something that I really needed to consider for the upcoming year. Taking the idea of entering seminary that upcoming year to prayer along with a few other job options, I felt most inclined to enter seminary that following year. So, I applied, was accepted, and have had a great time since!
Other interests include:
I enjoy active and adventurous outdoor activities such as rock climbing, road bicycling, and hiking. You can also find me on the field playing pickup sports such as ultimate Frisbee and soccer. Finally, I also enjoy spending time with my brother seminarians, as well as reading and talking philosophy, theology, and other things intellectual.
