Priesthood Class of 2020 (Catholic Standard):
Inspired by his priest brother's example and support, Deacon Glasgow is ready for his own ordination
My life before the seminary:
I grew up homeschooling with my brothers, sisters, cousins, and a variety of different home school communities. It was a tremendously blessed time and laid the spiritual foundation for the flowering of my vocation several years later. High school instilled within me an array of interests: skiing, dance, sports, and math. While attending The Catholic University of America I pursued these activities and also began to assist in the school’s campus ministry, notably through their chastity outreach project, Live Out Love. College was also a time of spiritual maturation for me: intentionally living out my faith, growing and developing a routine of prayer, and seeking out friends who would help me grow closer to Christ.
What convinced me to enter the seminary:
In a way the Lord plopped seminary on me quite suddenly. I was in Ireland, studying aboard in Cork. Through a brief series of events I landed upon the joyful and peaceful conclusion of the Lord calling me to the seminary. The conclusion of priesthood, however, circled around an idea that had long been present: love. In this sense, the Lord had been preparing me to receive this call for a long time: inviting me deeper into the reciprocal nature of love. It was the years of prayer and quiet growth from the Lord that allowed my soul to be fertile enough to listen and respond to Christ’s call. And what a gift it is!
Other interests include:
I’m generally a fan of people: as individual reflections of God, and as constituents in a wider culture: at home or abroad, in the present or the past. Additionally, I love the beauty of nature and immersing myself in it. Music also grabs me quite dynamically. I’m often accused of finding music and rhythm everywhere.
