My life before the seminary:
I attended undergraduate school at Cornell University with a major in Chemistry and Chemical Biology. While at Cornell I converted to Catholicism and was received into the Church during my senior year. I completed medical school at Boston University and did my post-graduate residency in Emergency Medicine in the Bronx. After completing my residency, I decided to stay in New York City working as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
What convinced me to enter the seminary:
Throughout my career in medicine I increasingly felt the Lord may be calling me to a radical reorientation. My devotion to the Mass and time spent in adoration intensified this feeling. I still wasn't completely sure I was ready to step away from something I had been working towards my entire life. Despite this apprehension and after 6 years of being a doctor, I couldn't shake the Lord's call and decided to take the plunge and enter seminary.
